The Work Goes On

Four weekend remaining before I plan on launching the boat. It gets here fast when you’re racing to get all your work done. I’ve been replacing hoses, cetol’n the cabin sole, puting the new vinyl in…. just about everything you can think of… I’ve been working on. The picture above are my cabin top winches I took home to clean and regrease in the comfort of my cellar workbench.

Before and after pictures of the winches installed. Also as you can see below, I installed a new rope clutch. I learned the hard way they should be removed every few years and maintained like winches. The old rope clutch would jam until it finally broke. Thats the thing about owning a sailboat, you learn stuff all the time. Experience is the key, whether thats out on the water or repairing your boat over the winter.
