2008 Sailing Season

The 2008 sailing season is winding down. We have only a few more weeks left. Yesterday, Janet and I were talking about the season while we went out for a short sail.

One of the things we realized was that we didn’t really go anywhere this year. We went on a single weekend trip to the Vineyard this year. That was it. I had another weekend sail with Richard and Rafi. Still, that isn’t much.

During our sail yesterday, we realized we spent too much time at the family cottage and not enough sailing to different destinations. We spend a ton of money on Galatea. We need to utilize her more.

This year, most of our sailing was day sails around Buzzards Bay. And we spent a lot of time living on the boat in Mattapoisett. Using it as our cottage on the water. But next year, we vowed to spend more time exploring the waters of southern New England.
