4th of July Vineyard trip (part 2)

During our trip to the Vineyard, we met up with Richard in Vineyard Haven. I took the dingy over and found where his sailboat Karma was moored inside the breakwater. I took a few pictures of him messing about on his boat.

It was good seeing Rich again. He and his family live in West Tisbury. We keep in touch via e-mail, exchanging mostly political discussions. Point counter point, he the conservative, me the liberal.

Though sailing is something we both agree on.

Karma is a 22 foot 1974 Bristol sloop. It’s a classic old boat. I sold it to Rich in 1999 when I bought Galatea. I was back on it this weekend for the first time in 8 years, it brought back a lot of memories.

The most noticeable thing about Karma when I got aboard was how well maintained she was. Rich had done an outstanding job maintaining that boat. Now it’s time for his 56 foot wooden sloop :-)
